​SWR was founded in 1970 by John Kubus, who built the business one service call at a time.

In those early days, there were no cellphones or dispatch software. To find out where the next job was, John would stop at a payphone and call home, where his wife, Nancy, was answering customer calls, managing the books, and raising their three children.

With a strong focus on innovation, fairness, and long term relationships, Joe modernized every part of the operation by expanding the team, investing in modern technology, and building one of the most trusted names in plumbing and drainage across the Lower Mainland.
